Chit talking:
So these uh raccoons come up on the back porch
and uh they love, they love the flour
If you leave a sack of flour out there
they'll come and get it
and it's really cute it's worth it
just leave a sack of flour out for your neighborhood wildlife
they'll thank ya
and you'll appreciate the result
Hey so uh Chit Holdems band thinkin about playin
Hey everybody folks upstairs comin on down for the country music show
Hi we're Chit Holdems and we come from the swamp
way up north
there's lotsa trees
and uh... that's why we're so fuckin free I guess
and uh I wonder... we're what you might call a wierd niche political cowboy band
uh, anarchist antifascist to be specific
Now we're gonna start with a song that a lot of our fans really like
and uh we're gonna start with that song
right after we stop playin this right now
and it goes like this

Cross The State
03:43
|
|||
well you think you wanna do a little planet savin
you wanna try and stop the climate change
well it seems real simple when we first get started
our priorities we rearrange
but then we spend some time workin and it becomes clear
it's always been time to escalate
and by the time you find yourself locked down to a crane
you meet the beast we call the state
and when you cross the state
you cross the cops
you cross the banks feds the irs
and they'll put you in the stocks
but solidarity
cos we got your back
and someday the state will go away and it's never comin back
well you think you wanna do some social justice work
in a big ol city town
everything from bad jobs to poisoned water
been keepin the poor folk down
well you're workin helpin people live in their own neighborhoods
you're fightin to degentrificate
and then you cross the wrong developer
and then you meet the beast we call the state
[chorus]
well you think you wanna build us up a better world
you wanna live out a life in peace
i support that kind of work yeah i think that's the way to be
but when we build ourselves somethin where we got what we need
and we're livin life peaceful and great
because we have escaped systems of domination we will be confronted by the state
[chorus]

Secret Weapon
04:50
|
|||
the state will worm it's way inside the mind
it has since times immemorable
and governments recuperate the people's art to maintain their control
so down on music row ya got a right wing stranglehold
they got the glitz the glamour the distribution to bear the empires load
but we've got our secret weapon
it's hidden in the pocket
and it's as powerful as all our bombs and all our rockets
they got the banks the tanks the governments
and they want the country too
but we got better country music than they do
recuperated art can tell you how to feel and just whom you can be
and the lyrics comin out of Nashville read like a melange of worn out memes
radio or tv a corporate hegemony
has got the power to define your hometown's ideology

here's a good old one about riotin and smashin things
well the liberals are finally upset so we're hittin the street
everybody's got a fun sign and we're feelin real neat
but there's another group who really came to rumble
all dressed in their all black clothes
and when they start to smashin windows and a lightin the fires
all the liberals say OH NO
but
smashin up a bank all dressed in black
well that ain't no skin off my back
that bank burned half the folk in my town
you can burn it right down to the ground
well you might never do what the black bloc do
but they do it for freedom and they do it for you
so that good ol smashy smashy is just alright with me
got a system that we're born into and we're tryin to work
but it was never made to serve us so we're goin berserk
we know that we're killin off the planet
but we'd trade it all to be employed
well it shouldn't take a bum like me to tell you that system oughta be destroyed
so
[chorus]
we ain't talkin bout comin to your house to ruin your things
we ain't talkin bout smashin up the hospital or library
naw we're talkin bout meetin power face to face
in the places it controls
we'll burn what won't break then build a new world from the ashes of the old
so
[chorus]
smashin windows might peak some of your fears but where the hell ya been for the last thirty years?

Wild One Runnin
05:21
|

i don't know if y'all heard, but... bout a brave hero named Willem Van Spronson. He went and burnt a bunch of ICE buses. That's the kinda thing we like to glorify down on the farm so we wrote a song about it
there was a man and his name was Willem Van Spronson
a man who was free and would always put up a fight
the life he'd been livin and current events he'd been watchin
led him to know there was somethin that just wasn't right
so he loaded up his gas cans and went into the town where the ICE is
and he found their buses and burned them down
well Willem knew you got to burn it burn it burn it
when they do the violence we'll return it
they lock us up, they take the kids
and that's why we burn their shit
and if you do they may take your life from you
and forever's a long time it's true
but when it comes to never again
forever's what you do
life had been long and been hard and been sad for Willem
he'd finally reached the age of 69
touchin the flame to the rag and blowin out windows
Willem lived his last years in just one night
and i heard he did almost a half a million dollars in damage
before the police could gun him down
[chorus]
fadin to the sound of the cops on the radio
Willem died free like a wild one runnin

[name redacted], whataya wanna hear?
**I gotta ride in the Honda Fit later and i was wonderin if there was somethin you could do to make it a little more my style**
sittin one day just a thinkin bout the planet
that old environment
and all a them weirdo hippies who think they can try to save it
then in a burst it occurred to me
hey Earth that's where i grow my beans and corn
maybe I should pitch in a little more
well i like four wheel drivin but i'm burnin too much gas
so i'll take a vehicle with less of a footprint and give it just a touch of country class
put the bronco up on craigslist built a lift kit for an 06 prius
changed it over to 4WD with four speed stick shift and 30 inch tires
hit the woods and i tear it up got the beer in my reusable plastic cup
now i don't know if i can do the green party but i'll betcha i can party green
took my big ol prius to a big keg party and i was thinkin on the way
bout all of them little red cups that we'd all be throwin away
i thought hey i can move in time there's a yard sale up on the county line's got a plastic cup it was made in the 80s and a nickle'll make it mine
i'm the green scene at the bonfire with my reusable plastic cup
and best of all it's got a lid and a handle for when i get too drunk
[chorus]
gettin 50 miles to the gallon when i'm roarin down the trail
and them 30 inchers throw some clean efficient rooster tail
got a rebuilt dana 44 and a snorkel up on top
and it makes a most surprising noise when i take off from the parkin lot
it goes....
[chorus]
